Good analysis. You're right in all your matchups. The only difference of opinion I'd have is Schneider. I am of the opinion that Schneider is no where close to top 5 as of now. I hope that's not a common sentiment, or he'll be destined to disappoint next season. |

Nash for Hemmer and Gagner I guess we counter that with Ballard, Raymond and a 1st. I don't see edm getting out of the bottom 5. I also think that the oilers may have to mv one of the big 4 too plug the many holes in this roster. They are probably looking at around 6.5-7 to sign each of these kids. The best comparable is the Toews-Kane deals in Chicago. Tavaras got les but hi number erent assolidas Eberles after r 2 either. The Hawks gave their boys 6.3 per and with the cap significantly higher it will be a touch higher then 6.3 |

It's the offseason, only time Oilers, Leafs and Flames fans are on equal ground with the rest of the league. |

What a pointless article?
Did you really need to waste however long it took to write this, in order to determine that the Canucks have a better (and by better read, more developed) team at the point in history then the Oilers do?
Any genius with access to tsn.ca can figure that out. Congrats for writing an essay on the obvious. We all have a fairly good idea how the teams will stack up next season. It's not rocket science.
A worthwhile analysis would be comparing and theorizing how the two teams will stack up in 3 years. |

It's a bit early to declare Schneider is a top 5 goalie don't you think?. I think he's shown tremendous potential so far, but let's face it, he's had a total of 68 starts as a back-up in the NHL. Let's see how he does under the pressure of being a starter and playing against the leagues best teams might in and night out. Or you could just skip that and put him right in to the hall of fame now. |

It's been a 1A and 1B over the last two years ... I wouldn't consider him a "backup" he's had many streaks of games in a row. |

ive seen you declare Price top 5, despite him being no better than 15th in a major stat category. |

He played 33 games last year and 25 the year before. I'd consider that a back-up |

I love Schneids as much as anyone, but I think we should hold off calling him top 5 in the NHL until he runs a full season as the starter. I definitely think he can get there... Maybe even this season... But let's keep the expectations in check a bit. |

"After Whitney and Smid there isn't anything to hang your hat on."
No offense, but Petry and Nick Schultz are nothing to sneeze at either. I won't waste time comparing the 2 teams because it's obvious that Van is a better team, but we are closing the gap. |
